♣ These are made with an expensive stitching process that lengthens the life of the shoe & bends easily. Some pairs of shoes have been in regular use for several years.
♣ It allows for a more complex sole design than cheap methods - in this case the Tredair® sole made of long-lasting crack-resistant plastic, a porous insole board and an injected or inserted layer of quality bungee.
♣ The board that goes under your foot is based on reclaimed wood pulp.
Most soles on that claim to contain air will either contain a bit of hard carpet under felt, which is good at moulding round your foot-shape, or a springy chamber with less moulding ability. The Tredair® sole combines mould-ability and spring, as well as resisting cracks and wearing very well. It is a sole good enough to be sewn-on to these leather-free uppers.
♂♀ Traditionally this is a mens' design but a proportion of sales are to women and we stock the shoes in the full range of adult sizes.
↨ Microfibre uppers are about as water resistant as leather - simply polish scuffed surfaces with any wax to keep water out. Meanwhile the wicking ability of microfibre and its ability to sweat some moisture through the gloss surface makes the shoes more comfortable in winter than plenty of leather ones.
