• The Foreign and Commonwealth Office Mandarins seem unperturbed by government in China and the Greater London Assembly even has an office there promoting Chinese manufacturing to UK designers, in support of a national fund of UK taxpayer money of which which about 80% was spent promoting Chinese imports. in order to put UK taxpayers out of work.
If their colleagues in the Treasury have made you redundant in the UK, and you can't get a job at the FCO maybe they think you should go and apply for work in China. The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee has subsidised cheap Chinese imports in order to reduce inflation and the Department for Business even funds buyers and journalists to see Chinese-made "ethical" goods from Terra Plana at London Fashion Week at UK taxpayer's expense. Those on less exotic salaries at Amnesty and Human Rights Watch write with a different perspective.
